As we consider plans for the future, we cannot neglect our values:

Mission Statement

Our mission statement expresses the reason for the existence of Fairwoods:

The mission of the Fairwoods Christian Recreation Society is to nurture Christian community by providing opportunities for individuals, families, and church-related groups to gather for recreation and fellowship.

Vision for the Future

As we look forward into the next five to ten years, we envision Fairwoods in the following way:

• Fairwoods property and facilities are well maintained – clean, comfortable, safe, functional, and attractive.

• Fairwoods is actively used year-round, supported by a four-season activities center.

• Programs are coordinated by a year-round “activities coordinator”.

• Fairwoods play a significant part in the local CRC church life.

• Fairwoods is regularly used by other church groups in the Blackstone Valley area and throughout New England.

• Fairwoods is financially a self-sustaining operation.

• The Fairwoods board is focused more on strategic, than on operational activities.

Next Steps

We have a vision, and now we are preparing a strategy and plans to get there.  To assist in our planning, we completed a perimeter survey of the property.  Our next step is to conduct engineering feasibility studies of a proposed construction site for a four-season activities center.
